End of wet season re-planting at Ross Rd, Deeral – 3pm

We had a few tree losses at Ross Rd over the Christmas break due to an influx of vine weeds, mainly Calopo. Our mid-week volunteers (you know who you are 🙂 and Russ, Sean & the Rossi bros have been fundamental in de-vine-ing the trees and now is the time to do our re-planting before we get our last rains of the wet season (hopefully).

So join us this coming Sunday afternoon for a bit of re-planting. You won’t need a mask because we are working outdoors, and as long as you keep your 1.5m distancing, this will be a Covid safe event.
Directions: The site is at the very end of Ross Rd Deeral (the road where the boat ramp is)…..at number 264 right down the end on the right. Drive into the property and follow the signs to the site. Drive slowly and watch out for TimTam the 3-legged dog!
It is BYO everything – gloves and shovel, the usual sun smart gear, covered shoes & water. Think about midgy protection for later in the afternoon over supplied refreshments.

These projects are a partnership between Mulgrave Landcare and Greening Australia, supported by the Australian Government Reef Trust. They are part of Greening Australia’s Reef Aid program to improve water quality on the Great Barrier Reef, and, Mulgrave Landcare’s core business of connecting biodiversity corridors throughout the Mulgrave Catchment.
Thank you to the Cairns Regional Council for supporting our projects, our Landholders, Franco & Frances Arri and family, JR & LM Trackson Pty Ltd – Excavating Contractors in Mourilyan for supplying machinery.
